It is an object that places us in close relationship with the ground and the surrounding environment. The core concept is the necessary connection with the earth to fully experience travel and the discovery of new places. In the Lombardo dialect, “nèm” is an exclamation meaning “let’s go!”, representing the nomadic spirit of the product.NÈM is designed to carry the traces of travel upon its skin and to offer us a moment of pause to sit and enjoy where we are—whether it be the desert, the wild jungle, a flowered meadow, or the park behind our home. NÈM è un micro-sgabello progettato per la vita nomadica a contatto con la natura. Si configura come un oggetto che ci pone in stretta relazione con il terreno e con l’ambiente circostante grazie alla sua bassa seduta. Il concetto che definisce il progetto NÈM è il necessario collegamento con la terra e con l’ambiente per poter apprezzare ed esperire a pieno il viaggio, lo spostamento e la scoperta di nuovi luoghi. NÈM in dialetto lombardo è un’esclamazione che significa “andiamo!” e rappresenta lo spirito nomadico del prodotto. Nell’antica cultura giapponese la prossimità con il suolo permette lo scambio di energia con la Terra, la più recente cultura Hippie celebra il contatto con il suolo e la libertà degli spazi. Il nomadismo oggi più che prima non è solo il viaggio a lunga distanza, l’esperienza della vita, ma anche la vita quotidiana, scandita da periodici spostamenti legati a come stiamo cambiando il modo di vivere gli spazi domestici, urbani e naturali.&nbsp; NÈM è pensato per portare le tracce e i ricordi dei viaggi sulla sua pelle e soprattutto per offrirci un momento di pausa dove sedersi e godere del luogo dove siamo, che sia il deserto, la giungla selvaggia, un prato fiorito, o che sia il parco dietro casa o il nostro giardino. Behind this industrial and technical operation lies a more abstract concept: the desire to create a comfortable chair using the least ergonomic material possible. It is not a mere exercise in style, but a reflection on why we perceive comfort.&nbsp;RODO is a subversive object compared to common ideas of ergonomics, roundness, and softness. It enters the landscape of graceful and welcoming seating with a decidedly punk approach.RODO è una sedia nata da un solo elemento grezzo, una verga a sezione rettangolare di alluminio cavo. Dietro a questa operazione tecnica vi è un’idea ben più astratta: voler realizzare una sedia confortevole utilizzando ciò che è meno ergonomico. Non vuole essere un esercizio di stile ma un modo per riflettere sul motivo per cui noi percepiamo la comodità. In questo caso la ricerca è stata fatta sui vari parametri che permettono di avere una sedia leggera ed adatta al corpo umano sfruttando al meglio angoli, inclinazioni e giunzioni. Rodo è un oggetto radicale, sovversivo rispetto alle idee comuni di ergonomia, rotondità, morbidezza ed imbottitura. Sia il metodo di realizzazione estremamente elementare, sia l’estetica non convenzionale e stilizzata sono coerenti con la filosofia “hardcore” della sedia. Rodo si propone in un panorama di sedute graziose ed accoglienti con un approccio al tema della seduta decisamente punk. Sottocassa responds to this by celebrating the "forbidden" through a critical and ironic lens. It offers a provocative solution for those seeking to recreate the raw atmosphere and underground scenery of a rave within the intimacy of a domestic space. The project is defined by a system of interconnected panels that form modular units—for storage, display, or reflection—directly inspired by sound systems (the iconic walls of amplifiers and speakers). Every formal reference stems from a meticulous analysis and reimagining of this recreational subculture: Acoustic drivers are transformed into mirrors. Sound-directing channels evolve into functional shelves and niches. The inherent modularity allows the system to shift across scales, ranging from discreet domestic compositions to monumental, scenographic installations. Rooted in a cultural input that is at once tribal, primitive, and recurring, Sottocassa addresses space, energy optimization, and emerging social needs—all filtered through the essential, ironic, and non-conformist vision of my studio. Each module is engineered to minimize industrial processing; the components are stripped down to the bare essentials required to evoke the sound system aesthetic. The color palette draws directly from clubbing and rave culture: White paired with smoked mirrors.&nbsp;Black paired with clear mirrors. Together, they generate a vibe that is unequivocally minimalist, brutalist, and dark. I rave sono diventati reato da novembre 2022, chi pianifica questi eventi rischia la reclusione e ingenti multe. Sottocassa celebra il proibito in modo critico ed ironico. Sottocassa è la soluzione più adatta per chi vuole ricreare lo stesso scenario e la stessa atmosfera dei rave nel proprio spazio domestico. Il progetto è descritto da un sistema di pannelli collegati tra loro che permette di sviluppare dei moduli contenitivi, espositivi o riflettenti ispirati ai sound system ​(pareti di amplificatori e diffusori). Ogni riferimento formale è derivato dall’analisi e dalla rielaborazione dei dettagli presenti in questo contesto ricreativo: i diffusori si trasformano in specchi e i canali che direzionano il suono diventano ripiani e nicchie. Si è sfruttata la modularità per poter declinare il sistema in diverse scale dimensionali, potendo quindi realizzare composizioni di scala domestica e composizioni più scenografiche. Partendo da un input culturale, riconoscibile come tribale, primitivo e ricorrente nel tempo, è nato un progetto che parla di spazi, ottimizzazione energetica e di nuove necessità sociali, il tutto filtrato attraverso il punto di vista essenziale, ironico e anticonformista che contraddistingue il mio studio. Ogni modulo è progettato limitando al minimo le lavorazioni e il numero di elementi è ridotto al minimo indispensabile per creare i riferimenti formali necessari ad ottenere l’estetica del sound system. Le colorazioni che sono state scelte per il progetto derivano dal mondo del clubbing e dei rave, il bianco abbinato a specchi fumè e il nero abbinato a specchi chiari permettono di generare una vibe minimale, brutalista e dark. I defined this bench starting from a flat shape, drawing inspiration from the world of lettering and Japanese calligraphy. The name SUMI comes from the Japanese term for the ink used in calligraphy, made from pine soot and glue.&nbsp;The material used for SUMI is marine pine plywood, treated on the surface first with a burning technique (shou sugi ban) and subsequently with an indigo dye. Semplificazione in segni grafici degli elementi della comune panca. Ho definito la panca partendo da una forma piatta, ispirandomi al mondo del lettering e della calligrafia giapponese. Il nome SUMI deriva dalla definizione in giapponese dell’inchiostro che viene utilizzato per la calligrafia, ottenuto con fuliggine di pino e colla.&nbsp;Il materiale con cui è realizzata SUMI è infatti un multistrato di pino marino trattato superficialmente: in primis con una bruciatura (shou sugi ban) e in seguito con una tintura di colore indigo. The core of the project lies in the metamorphosis of raw, dimensionless material into an object of perceived volume and mass—one that reveals itself to be strikingly light and slender depending on the viewer's perspective. The design is defined by exaggerated and unusual volumes, achieved through a process akin to rolling a sheet of paper, while the seat remains pared down to the absolute minimum.The color choice further reinforces the unconventional philosophy of DIVERSA: the selected blue is a deliberate statement. As the rarest color in the natural world yet the most easily perceived by the human eye, it transforms the chair into a high-visibility landmark within any space. La sedia prende forma dalla volontà di realizzare un oggetto che evidenzi la versatilità e la flessibilità della lamiera di alluminio. Il fulcro del progetto è la metamorfosi del materiale grezzo, adimensionale, in una sedia visivamente piena e voluminosa, che è leggera e sottile in base al punto di vista. La sedia è descritta da elementi con volumi esagerati ed insoliti, ottenuti come da un foglio di carta arrotolato, mentre il leggero sedile è dimensionato al minimo indispensabile. Anche la colorazione scelta è un riferimento al concetto di unconventional che rappresenta DIVERSA: il blu è il colore meno presente in natura ed è il più facilmente visibile dall’occhio umano. Il nome deriva dal numero tre, che ricorre nella forma e nel concetto alla base del sistema. Che cos’è la luce? Come si può rappresentare la sua essenza in un oggetto tangibile e quotidiano? La luce è qualcosa di impalpabile che si irradia nello spazio, è la cosa più immateriale che conosciamo e allo stesso tempo quella che rivela la pelle degli oggetti che tange. Questa caratteristica si traduce in un oggetto estremamente leggero, dotato di uno scheletro metallico iper-essenziale che sostiene il leggerissimo diffusore triangolare. La sequenza di questi elementi permette di delineare non solo un oggetto totemico e voluminoso, ma anche estremamente leggero, percepibile come pieno o come vuoto in base al punto di osservazione. Il secondo concetto attorno al quale TER si sviluppa è la primitività della luce, più precisamente la rappresentazione sintetica del momento primordiale in cui l’uomo ha saputo controllare l’illuminazione attraverso il fuoco. Il turning point della nostra evoluzione è legato sostanzialmente a tre elementi essenziali, il trittico necessario per la combustione: la sostanza in grado di infiammarsi, la sostanza ossidante (come l’ossigeno) e l’innesco. Nel modo più semplice e schematico i 3 elementi si ritrovano nella forma triangolare del modulo della lampada, che posto in una sequenza più o meno estesa permette illimitate configurazioni, rendendo il sistema TER adatto a qualsiasi spazio. In sintesi TER è una lampada modulare che definisce la luce nei suoi aspetti più essenziali e primordiali soddisfando necessità concrete ed attuali quali la riduzione degli sprechi energetici, la sperimentazione con i materiali di seconda generazione, la valorizzazione dei raw materials, ed il costante focus sulla semplificazione produttiva e distributiva dell’oggetto. In this project, structure is explored through three distinct visions: BLOB (The Absence of Structure): Defines a mutable, ever-changing form. TER (The Hidden Structure): Appears voluminous by harnessing the void to "domesticate" the material. DOMO (Structure as Cult): A hyper-technical framework that assumes the symbolic function of delineating air and space. Structure is what grants an object stability, determining its static nature or its flexibility. This three-way reflection is embodied in three "non-objects"—pieces that are simultaneously symbolic and functional. The project investigates the inversion of predetermined functions, analyzing the interaction between fluid and solid, between gravity and matter. This collection unveils the more technical facet of the studio: projects born from abstract concepts that are channeled into the world of industrial design by subverting its traditional rules. The Elements: BLOB: An ultra-soft, moldable upholstered piece; multifunctional and intentionally elusive in its definition. TER: A lamp composed of a hidden aluminum skeleton, enveloped by paper sails that define a volume consisting primarily of air. DOMO: A dome structure serving as a domestic temple and a demarcation of functional space. It stands as a symbol of the intent to define new mental and physical realms, adapting to contemporary and future living paradigms. Il grave è il peso della forma, la gravità plasma gli oggetti, la struttura contrasta la gravità. La struttura è declinata in 3 visioni differenti: L’assenza di struttura per definire la forma mutevole (BLOB); la struttura nascosta che appare voluminosa sfruttando il vuoto a suo vantaggio e addomestica il materiale (TER); la struttura come oggetto di culto che da ipertecnico assume la funzione simbolica di delimitare l’aria o uno spazio (DOMO). La struttura è ciò che rende stabile un oggetto, ne determina la staticità o la flessibilità. Questa considerazione a tre vie si coniuga in 3 oggetti-non oggetti simbolici e allo stesso tempo funzionali. Il progetto vuole ragionare sull’inversione delle funzioni predeterminate dalla nostra immaginazione, analizzando l’interazione tra fluido e solido, tra gravità e materia. In corrispondenza di questo evento si presenta la sfaccettatura dello studio più tecnica attraverso i progetti che derivano da concept astratti che vengono veicolati nel mondo dell’industrial design sovvertendone le regole. Un imbottito ultrasoffice e plasmabile, multifunzione e difficilmente definibile. Una lampada costituita da uno scheletro d’alluminio nascosto ed inglobato dalle vele di carta che delimitano il suo volume realmente composto per la maggior parte da aria. Una struttura a cupola che funge da tempio domestico e demarcazione di uno spazio dedicato ad una funzione, simbolo della volontà di definire i nuovi spazi mentali e fisici adeguandosi alle modalità dell’abitare contemporanee e future.
